On a Sunday afternoon, I was sitting in my backyard and
thought to myself “I wish I didn’t have to worry about how often
I washed Luka,” as I watched my 2-year-old Boston Terrier roll in a pile of leaves.
Since the day I got Luka, it had been very important to me to satisfy
her needs not only for social interaction, but also for daily activities,
like playing with other dogs, chasing the ball or jogging with me
outside. However, there was one challenge that came with these
daily activities and that was keeping my over-active puppy clean.
I could easily take a shower after spending an afternoon
outside in Florida, but not Luka. It took me only a couple of
weeks to figure out that I couldn’t wash my dog every day.
When I asked her vet “How about every other day?” her vet looked
at me with a concerned smile as I petted Luka’s flake-covered
coat and hopelessly tried to justify it “...but she sleeps with me in my bed!”
That was about a year before that Sunday afternoon of
thinking of finding a product in the market that would not dry her skin out, but still keep her clean. Again, it was that
same Sunday afternoon that I first had a thought then a vision of a soap that I could actually make! I could add all natural
moisturizers and oils to ensure a gentle, non-drying cleaning experience with my puppy!
A year later, after working hard in researching, designing, testing with one of my dearest friends, we came up with
the ultimate bar of soap that gave AMAZING results! Not only the formula, but the shape and the design was also brilliant.
It didn’t dry her coat or skin. It had massaging nodes that were made out of soap which cleaned and
massaged at the same time and worked better than my fingers.
I was thrilled! I used it over and over again, and gave it out to my friends who had dogs.
